We value the role youth have in our Raytown community. We elevate their voices and empower their dreams so that they can grow up to live safe and healthy lives as adults. Through Youth Life Link, at-risk youth ages 13-17 are exposed to, develop, and increase their skills in personal responsibility, leadership, teamwork, academics, and community responsibility which are foundational for violence and drug-free, self-sufficient lifestyles.
The Youth Life Link Programs are designed to meet the needs in the community incorporating the following principles:
Healthy. Vibrant. Active. Connected.
This is our vision for our youth in Raytown, Missouri.
The Lawn Care program includes safety issues and the art of lawn mowing and raking leaves. In addition, young men are taught the job application process, job survival, job termination/ references, appropriate dress, attendance, punctuality, teamwork, following instructions, and dealing with the employer when there are problems.
The Building an Empire program teaches youth the importance of creating, building, and sustaining a business through SWOT analysis, 6 P's of business, different types of businesses, and money management.
The core of community gardening involves providing our community with access to fresh food, a better understanding of where food comes from and providing education to enable community members to grow and care for their own natural landscape while garnering a greater respect for the natural environment.
